DC Alts Allocation

DCALTA and CEM have entered into a joint partnership to provide relevant data on alternative investments in defined contribution plans. We will be tracking on an ongoing annual basis the following data points:

• Average asset allocation to alternatives in Target Date Funds (TDF) and Balanced options

• The differences in allocations among both “Off the shelf” and “Custom” TDFs

• The number of plan sponsors within each section and the total plan assets represented

• Average investment manager costs for TDFs and Balanced options in the database that include any combination of real estate, private equity or risk parity/hedge funds

• The CEM DC Investment Database (extending from 1997) contains option level allocations, costs, benchmarks and returns for 120+ U.S. DC plan sponsors, covering $2.5 trillion in assets.
